My cycling Timeline (From Birth – Till date)

Wrote this for Decathlon contest however it didn't getting shortlisted. So I thought I should spread the awesomeness on my blog.

My parents bought me cycle at a young age of  5. For long duration it was just used as an additional

showpiece in our garage engulfed with dust.  Art of balancing of balancing two wheels was a herculean

task for me. I felt jealous when I saw other kids enjoying their ride and I wasn’t one of them. Finally I

learned the act when I was around 8 years it was center of all my activities. I used to bring my cousins

from their schools, bring some sweets from market in sector 19, Chandigarh or purchase some crackers

from the nearby shop. It was my very own set of 2 wheels and I rode like a boss!

I used to go to school which was in sector 29 around 3 km from my house and it took us around 20

minutes to reach there. Be it the crazy heat of June or maddening winters of December I always enjoyed

the journey.  When I was 10 , I had a major accident with a b…

5 reasons you should start reading books

I like reading books and use them as pillow when I am asleep though I do it only sometimes , just sometimes. I started reading at a young age of may be 4. My father was posted in Delhi and I had all the comics of Chacha Chodhree, Pinki, Billi . I even remembered them from heart and this was before I joined elementary school. Unlike other children I learned reading Hindi at very fast pace though reading English was not my cup of tea. I often used to study entire Hindi story books prior to starting of new session. Anyways we will discuss this later, and will try to pen down 5 reasons why I read books, though I can write 500 (wink, wink):-

1.Teleports you to a different world: Reading usually teleports you to a different world. In the chaos of our day to day routine it gives your mind peace.  Once you are in the zone, flipping favorite pages of your book, it’s a mental orgasm. New neurons are created in your brain and you feel refreshed. Believe me hangover from bottle VAT 69 is temporary…

My book recommendation: v2

So let’s continue from where we left.
Brotherhood of  Warriors: Behind Enemy Lines with a Commando in One of the World's Most Elite Counterterrorism Units

This book is one of the hidden gems. My respect for Israel multiplied when I read this book. Brutally honest it takes you to the journey of “black-ops”, coveted Mosad and most important the camaraderie and brotherhood that exists between author and his buddies.  I liked the determination of Aaron to join IDF and make his way among the best of the warriors. Moving from BeverleyHills to Israel is never easy.  You watch “Haider “  and learn the word Chutzpah but it was initially used in  this book. I loved it for Krav-Maga, leadership ,  human intelligence, history of counter-terror warfare and the honest way in which Aaron writes his story. Won’t spill the beans further.  This is a collector’s edition.

My book recommendation: v1

Short-listing few books from Plethora of awesome books  available in the universe is a daunting task. I must confess finding  a great book to  read is usually a difficult thing for me. Recommendation engine of GoodReads and Amazon are my brothers in arm for this. Hidden helps come from some of my friends like AmericanObama who has an eclectic taste and some other modes as well which serves as my lifeline. So I will try to list down the books, which I think must be read by all in lifetime at least once. Some of them are well known and some are hidden gems. So let’s start:-

1. Open by Andre Agassi :

I have to admit this book started my inclination towards reading and I discovered that books are awesome and must be read to keep my brain working. Andre Agassi is a world famous athlete and he takes you through his journey in the most honest way. Brooke shields and Steffi Graf do account for the attraction but it’s something else that will keep you hooked across 300 pages.…
